Teams Working Together

If you need a warming, cooling, or storm shelter opened please call (573) 546-4000. Dispatch will contact either the Iron County Emergency Management Director or the City of Annapolis Emergency Management Director.

Here is the list of Shelters for Southern Iron County:

Key Points for coming to all shelters:

  1. Bring any food and water needed for you or your family.
  2. Bring blankets and pillows if wanted, we have cots but are unable to guarantee there will be a cot available.
  3. Bring medications you or your family may need. Please put medications in a secure bag and keep them with you at all times.
  4. Bring any toiletries you will need.
  5. Service animals are allowed, but unable to bring pets.

Warming and Cooling Shelter – Dispatch will inform you which shelter to go to:

  1. First Shelter: City of Annapolis City Hall (204 School Street, Generator being installed, 02-2023)
  2. Second Shelter: Annapolis Community Building (204 E. Second Street, Has Generator)
  3. Third shelter: South Iron School (210 School Street, No Generator at this time.)

Severe Weather – Tornado Shelter

  1. First Baptist Church Basement (407 2nd Street): This will be open by request or if there is an imminent possible threat to the community.
